The sage plant I grew in my garden and it’s texture and symmetries were irresistible for me to turn it into a plant relief.
Each piece begins with real flowers and plants, carefully arranged on a smooth slab of clay. The plants are gently pressed in to capture every vein and curve, then lifted away to leave their delicate impressions behind. A wooden frame is placed over the clay, and plaster is poured in to create a crisp, durable cast. Once set, the clay is peeled away, revealing the plants in stunning detail.
This tile measures 20 × 20 × 1 cm and has a picture mount on the back for easy wall hanging with a nail.
